You never know what events are to transpire to get you home.
Once upon a time, a young sorta middle aged chap worked with another slightly older chap who always banged on about this NV champagne “Gardet”. “It’s served in first class in a few airlines and people in the know in Champagne drink it themselves he would say”*.
I would reply with things like “but have you tried Krug” and “some vintage NZ methode is quite nice”. They didn’t agree.
Finally, after a number of years, the middle aged chap stopped in at the FWDC up North where the wildlings are, and made off with a bottle of this sacred-yet-exceptionally-affordable stuff.
It was good. It was $50 eroonies-of-a-smack. It had everything, and then some. Possibly a little more acidic than I would like long term, as in two bottles of this in a row would involve a bit of mylanta following, but I am being picky.
Not as good as the Tohu, better than or equal too pretty much everything else.
Thanks Richard.
